Diaper Bag Essentials for Two Under Two
“I’ll be able to get the babies dressed and out of the house in 30 minutes” said no mom ever. I know very well that leaving the house with your littles can be a daunting task and I used to always, ALWAYS forget to pack something in the diaper bag. Sometimes it would be pacifiers for my baby, and other days it could be extra snacks for my toddler. I’ve even made it all the way to the grocery store only to realize that I forgot my credit card.
Remembering what to pack with two kids under two is tough. The one thing that helped me never forget a diaper bag essential again was creating this checklist. These are the must have items to pack in your diaper bag:
Diapers and wipes– You should pack 1 diaper for each hour you’re out for your baby and have a few on hand for your toddler if they aren’t potty trained yet.
Portable changing pad– A portable changing pad is easy for changing on the go. Many diaper bags now come with a reusable changing pad.
Bottles and Milk– If your baby is bottle and/or formula fed, make sure you pack enough bottles and milk to last your entire outing.
Pacifiers– Somehow, pacifiers always end up on the floor so make sure you pack a few of these.
Muslin blanket– Not only are these good to use as a blanket or swaddle, they can also be used as a burp cloth or nursing cover.
Burp cloth– With all of the spitting up that babies do, make sure you pack at least two of these.
Extra outfits– I always bring an extra outfit for both my baby and toddler in case there are any diaper blowouts.
Small toys/books– With limited space in my bag, I normally pack a small book for my toddler and a rattle for my baby.
Water and snacks– Don’t forget to pack a snack and drink for your toddler. This can also help calm those toddler tantrums!
Hand sanitizer– This is helpful for cleaning your hands if you’re changing a diaper on the go.
Mom’s Items- And last but definitely not least don’t forget your things! Keys, credit card/cash, photo ID and you’re out the door!
