Of course you are because no one likes to play boring games at a party.   If you’re in your 20’s or 30’s, you’re probably in the phase of life where you have a baby shower to go to at least every month. We’ve all been to those baby showers where you play the exact same games like “name that baby food”.  If you’re like me, you’re tired of tasting purred baby food!

Modern baby shower games that aren’t so traditional can help liven up your party and bring more fun, especially if you’re having a coed baby shower. If you’re planning a baby shower, this list of games well make your baby shower stand out and be one that everyone will remember.  There is a game for everyone to enjoy no matter the age or gender of your guests.

Baby Shower Games That Don’t Suck

He or She

If the parents-to-be haven’t told anyone the gender of the baby yet, this is a fun game that lists out the old wives’ tales of whether the baby is a girl or boy.  Let the guests predict the baby’s gender. If the parents already know the gender, this is a great way to announce it at the baby shower.

Guess the Baby

When sending out the baby shower invitations, ask the guests to either email or bring a baby photo of themselves. Hang the photos up at the shower and have guests guess whose baby picture it is. 

Baby Bottle Guzzle

Fill baby bottles up with beer (or any alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage of choice) and have the participants chug the drink out of the baby bottle.  Whoever finishes their drink first wins.

Notes for Baby

When guests arrive, ask the guests to leave a special note for the baby on a diaper or piece of paper and put it in a keepsake box.  This will be a great memory for both the parents and baby when he or she gets older.

Design a Onesie

This is another fun arts and crafts game for guests who like more individual games.  Purchase enough white onesies and markers for the guests. Let each guest design a onesie for the baby. Hang the onesies up to display everyone’s’ design. Mom and dad can also send pictures of the baby in the onesies once the baby is born.

Mom or Dad

Put a list together of “mommy or daddy” questions that the parents to be agree on. For example, “who will be the fun parent?”. Print out the questions for the guests at the baby shower and have them guess the correct answer. Whoever has the most correct answer wins!

Baby Shower Bingo

Opening baby shower gifts can get pretty boring for the guests. One way to liven it up is to play bingo.  As mom and dad are opening up the gifts, have the guests mark it off on a bingo card.  Whoever gets bingo wins the game.

Playdough baby

Similar to the onesie design, this is another arts and crafts game.  Give the guests playdough and have them make sculptures of the baby out of clay.  Have the best clay sculptures displayed around the room.

Name that baby song

Before the shower, put a list together of baby related songs. At the baby shower, play a short snippet of the song and have the guests guess which baby song it is. Whoever has the most correct answers wins.

Children’s Book Emoji

The Children’s Book Emoji game is like the modern and baby shower version of Pictionary. The guests will need to guess what the children book is based off of the Emojis.  Whoever has gets the most answers right wins. 

Blind Folded Diaper Change

Diaper changes? Not so fun.  Blindfolded diaper changes? Hilarious. Blindfold each participant and have them change the diaper of a baby doll.  Whoever completes this challenge the quickest and neatest wins.         

Diaper Raffle

I had to include this because it’s a great way to get a lot of diapers! On the baby shower invite, let guests know that whoever brings diapers gets entered into a raffle.  You can even provide a certain number of raffle tickets per amount of diapers.  Pull from the raffle box at the end of the baby shower and whoever is selected gets a prize.

Baby Jeopardy

Make your own Jeopardy board and ask baby-related questions. Whoever has the most points by the end of the game wins.

Baby Shower Mad Libs

This game is to do while guests are sitting around the table and eating.  Give each guest a baby Mad Lib sheet. Once they fill it out, they can share the baby story with everyone around the table.

My Water Broke

This game is good for the people who just want to eat and mingle with the guests. Give each person a frozen baby (ice cube with a baby in it) to drop in their drink.  Whoever’s ice cube melts first yells “My Water Broke!” and wins.

What will Baby Look Like

Cut out pieces of paper of mom and dad’s eyes nose and mouth. Have guess put the parts together to form what they think the baby will look like.  Mom and dad can choose who wins.

Draw the baby

Pass out markers and a paper plate to each guest.  Have the guests put the paper plate on their forehead and try to draw a baby.  The parents to be can pick the best drawing as the winner.
